The minute I saw the new "Loveland" Collection by Scenic Route, I fell in love! "Loveland" is one of Scenic Route's new holiday mini lines, and it's totally adorable. I love creating with Scenic Route products and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this collection.
For the Loveland review, I received the Loveland Product Kit, and a package of Redmond Stencil Red Chipboard Alphabet letters. The chipboard stencils came in a 6" x 6" package, but fold out to a 12" x 12" sheet. Each letter is approximately 2" in size, made of heavy duty chipboard, and they are easy to distress, paint, sand, and alter. It's really like getting 2 letters for the price of one because you can use the actual punched out letter or the letter negative to create with! I personally thought the Loveland kit had the perfect amount of paper and embellishments in it. The kit included:
- Six sheets of double-sided printed cardstock
- Six sheets of single-sided printed background cardstock
- 200 Black Parker Alphabet Stickers
- One 12" x 12" Loveland Cardstock Die Cut embellishment sheet
- One 6" x 12" Valentines Chipboard embellishment sheet
- One 6" x 13" Valentines Cardstock Stickers embellishment sheet
The double-sided printed papers are printed on 65 lb cover cardstock, which makes them an excellent choice for sanding, distressing, etc. The collection colors are beautiful, bright, and bold, consisting of a variety of reds, pinks, greens, whites, and blacks. I loved having the six sheets of background cardstock, also printed on 65 lb cover cardstock, and came in a White Blue Grid, a White Line, and a Grey Grid on White. The Black Parker stickers had 200 letters both in upper and lower case, and were very easy to use. The Die Cut cardstock sheet is printed on 100 lb cardstock, (so they don't rip when you punch them out), and offer 11 different fun shapes to embellish with! One of my favorites was the Valentine's chipboard sheet that has 23 die cut pieces including brackets, photo corners, various circle shapes, and more. The Valentines sticker sheet is filled with 30 different heavy weight sticker embellishments like word fetti, quote boxes, and sticker strips.
I used the Valentines stickers and chipboard embellishments to help frame my picture/paper strip on my first layout. I sanded the chipboard pieces, added the Black Parker alphabet stickers, and decorated the papers with pens and rhinestones. I loved how the combination of all the different Loveland papers and embellishments worked so well together and really made this layout colorful!

Stickers)
Chipboard (Scenic Route Loveland: Valentines; Heidi Swapp)
Pen (Sakura Gelly Roll & American Crafts)
Rhinestones (Cell Phone Bling & Heidi Swapp)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech, Permanent Bond Glue Runner)
For my second layout, I used the White Lined paper for my background and decorated it with the Loveland die cuts, stickers, and chipboard. The lined background paper provided the perfect house for all of my journaling on the layout. I cut hearts out of the Garnet Street paper to use as page embellishments, and then decorated them with rhinestones. I also popped the letters U and S out of the chipboard, painted them a different pink, and then placed them back in their negatives.

Most of the patterns on my third layout came from cutting up the Loveland Scrap Strip paper. The Scrap Strip is one of my favorites because it can be used in so many ways and enables you to achieve a totally different look every time. I thought quite a few of the chipboard and sticker embellishments could easily work for page titles and journaling prompts.

This collection really inspired me! All of the Loveland products were of excellent quality and were easy to use and alter. The vibrant colors just draw you in and are a great combination to work with for girl and boy related topics. I created three layouts using this kit, and I still have plenty of papers, die-cuts, stickers, and chipboard to make several more projects. This is by far one of my favorite love themed collections and I would recommend it to everyone!

Loveland by Scenic Route - perfect for everything you love.
Working with product packs containing a nice sampling of items from a manufacturer's collection is often a great way to get introduced to their products without having to decide which items to pick. Scenic Route sent their newest release, Loveland, in a "Product Kit" plus an add-on chipboard alphabet. The kit contained 12 sheets of 12" x 12" printed cardstock, 6 double-sided and 6 single-sided. Also included was a 12" x 12" die cut cardstock sheet, a 6" x 13" cardstock sticker sheet, a 6" x 12" die cut chipboard sheet and a 9" x 18" sheet of alphabet stickers.
The paper is extremely nice with crisp, clean lines and beautiful colors. For the Loveland Collection, the tones range from red to deep pink, a touch of lime green and the old stand-bys of white and black. The patterns lean towards a "love" theme with lots of hearts, doodles and swirls, all with a subtle elegance. The addition of the 6 single-sided white sheet line and grid patterns offer a beautiful grounding for the deep red and green tones. The touch of black in the die cuts and stickers add a terrific accent, making the papers even more flexible and able to go beyond the love theme.
There is a lot to play with in this kit! We recently had a new addition to our family, Angel-Lee, but the poor thing had some immediate health concerns which kept her in and out of the hospital over the holidays. Angel-Lee's big sister, Autumn, was by her much of the way as she gained her strength and was finally well enough to come home. The soft tones on the Loveland papers were just perfect for this picture. The chipboard alphabet letters come in a casual font and I added glitter glue to the top to continue the "dreamy" feel of the page. It's almost like you need to whisper when you comment about the page!

I'm very close with one of my aunts, so Loveland was great to put together the memories from her last trip. The bold colors and patterns against the white background paper complimented the photos nicely while not overwhelming them. The chipboard letters and embellishment offered a nice dimensional element for the page with a clear line to doodle around!

A close friend loves Scenic Route, so I couldn't resist altering a pocket planner for her as a gift! Again, the white background paper served as a foundation for the stickers and die cut. The addition of some rhinestones to the top stickers was all that was needed for the final touch.

I absolutely loved working with the Loveland Collection! The gorgeous colors, patterns and quality are hard to express in words, so just look at all of the projects that the team put together for this review. The items coordinate well and look great as an end project. One little peeve I had was with the die cut chipboard - the webs were a tad bumpy upon removal from the main sheet. It was easily fixed with an exacto, but some did need a touch-up when the top color pulled away during trimming.
For any projects with a love, wedding, baby or feminine theme, I would highly recommend Loveland. Or if you love the tones of a red color palette or Scenic Route in general, you wouldn't be disappointed in any way by adding this collection to your stash.
Review by Catherine
Scenic Route is one of those companies that never seem to disappoint. From their patterned papers, to their chipboard embellishments, to their stickers, I always am impressed with what they have to offer. Every time CHA rolls around, one of the companies that I look forward to new products from the most is Scenic Route. Getting my hands on those products is always a priority. No products however, have been looked forward to by me quite as much as their newest releases for the winter holidays: Roxbury and Loveland. I was, frankly, ecstatic to learn that we would be receiving the Loveland line to review, and couldn’t wait to jump right in and start creating.
The Loveland Line from Scenic Route is a themed collection, intended for celebrating Valentine’s Day. I received the Loveland Product kit, which includes five different patterned papers, 1 scrap strip sheet, 6 background sheets, one sticker embellishment sheet, one alphabet sticker sheet, and one chipboard embellishment set. I also received a set of Red Redmond Stencil Chipboard Letters. What a wonderful assortment of beautiful products! The patterned papers in the Loveland line are all double-sided, and as with other Scenic Route papers, the biggest challenge is deciding which side of the paper I liked best. They are cardstock weight, which is wonderful, and very graphic and clean-lined. The cardstock stickers and chipboard embellishments are perfectly coordinated and lend exactly the right embellishment to any layout. I really cannot say enough good things about this line! Each and every paper are so beautiful and fun, that I just cannot seem to quit creating with them.
For my first project, I decided to use Loveland Chickadee Street paper as the starting point after picking out my picture. I love the bright red, green, bright pink, and pale pink color combinations in this collection. I used the Loveland Garnet Street patterned paper and cut out various hearts from in to use as accents. Additions of stickers and chipboard from the collection, on top of the Blue Background Grid, made the layout complete!

I love that when I receive new papers that I am immediately inspired to create something. When I first received my review team packet, I had an idea about a project that I could create. I decided on a Valentine’s theme decoration using many of the kit's papers.

On the next project, I decided to create a “different” type of love letter, dedicated to my husband. Things that he does, like reading to the kids while they crawl all over him and jabber at him, just endear me to him even further. I used my favorite paper from this collection, Carina Drive, as the basis for this layout.

I was one of those people who just had to have the tiny mailboxes available this month at the Target Dollar Spot. I felt that the Loveland Line papers would be perfect to decorate and enhance the fun little mailboxes that I bought for my sons. I will create two more little mailboxes for my other sons before Valentine's Day. I'll also create covers for chocolate bars to include inside the mailbox.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed working with these products. I knew from the minute that I saw the first previews of the Loveland Line on-line that I would love using these products, and I was definitely not disappointed. The Loveland papers are beautiful, bold, interesting, and fun. I am always satisfied with the great quality of products that Scenic Route creates, and the Loveland line is not an exception. If you have Valentine’s projects to create, then you MUST get your hands on the new Scenic Route Loveland Line. These products get my highest five star rating!
Review by Chris
I have always been a huge fan of Scenic Route products. I love their designs and color schemes and the quality of their product. When I heard of the possibility to review the Loveland collection, I was so happy. Finally a chance to sing the praises of one of my favorite scrapbook product manufacturers!
The new Loveland collection is a fairly traditional representation of Valentine’s day. The colors include shades of reds and pinks with white, green and black accents; the designs included hearts, flourishes, circles, stripes and dots. The collection includes six double-sided heavy-weight patterned papers, six white graph-type papers, a sheet of die cut shapes, a sheet of Valentine-themed stickers and two sheets of Valentine-themed chipboard shapes. Also included in my review pack was a red chipboard alphabet set in the Redmond stencil font and a sheet of black alphabet stickers in the Parker font.
Scenic Route’s papers are of the highest quality, heavy enough to stand alone without the need for a cardstock foundation, yet light enough that layering does not make the layout too cumbersome. They tear beautifully, accept ink and paint, stand up to sewing and embossing – any technique you might like to include on your layout is possible with these papers. Because they are double-sided, you get double the selection in pattern and design.
The chipboard in this collection has a wonderful glossy finish. I did notice that there were bits of the chipboard core hanging from the elements after they were popped from the sheet. I found that cutting them with my craft knife before removing the shape from the sheet solved this problem. I also used a fine emery board to distress the edges of some of my shapes and this also removed the little extra bits from the edge.
I have a photo of my dad and step-mom that I have been wanting to scrap and this collection gave me the perfect paper to use. I used the Grey Grid on White background paper as the foundation of the layout with the hearts of the Garnet Street paper layered on top. For the title, I used the “leftover” frames of the chipboard letters backed with contrasting paper. Some fun die cuts and chipboard word strips finished off the layout beautifully.

For my second layout, I selected a photo of my step-mom with her two granddaughters and my niece. The red of Ruby Ave was the perfect background for this photo taken over the Christmas holiday. I love the movement of all the circle shapes on the Carina Drive paper. Its design is so fresh and fun! A piece of the White Line background paper made a perfect journaling element. Chipboard shapes and sticker strips put some fun finishing touches on this cheerful layout.

Finally I decided to create an altered bird house. I have seen these done in several different styles and have wanted to create one for a while. I used a plain, unfinished bird house purchased at a garage sale. I separated one section of the roof and added hinges so that the top would open. After painting the edges black, I covered all surfaces with different patterns of the Loveland papers. My tongue-in-cheek title for this project is "Ribbon House" and it houses coordinating ribbons which dispense through the circular openings. The Scenic Route papers worked extremely well on this project. They are heavy enough to work with without tearing and they didn’t buckle when used with Mod Podge adhesive.

Scenic Route never disappoints me when it releases a new collection. The designs are always fresh and versatile. The product quality is outstanding. Check out this latest line in their collections. You won’t be disappointed!!
Review by Karen
This winter Scenic Route introduced a collection called Loveland. When I first was told of this collection, it was described to me as a mini collection. While I don't know what the definition of a mini collection was, I believe that this collection is anything but mini!
With a loose theme of love this collection is packed full great papers, stickers and chipboard pieces. The color palette contains greens, pink and reds with a touch of black and white. The papers are double-sided with patterns that include hearts, polka dots and tone on tone prints. The sticker sheet is 6" x 12". I love that the sticker sheet includes phrases as well as some graphic images. The phrases include "truly, madly, deeply" and "can you feel the love". There is also a chipboard pack that has brackets, phrases and heart graphics.
In my kit I received one Loveland Product pack and a package of Redmond Stencil Letters in red. The kit contained 12 sheets of patterned paper, one sheet of die cut shapes, one sheet of stickers, one chipboard pack and a set of letter stickers. This was more than enough products to complete several layouts.
My first project is a two page layout where I cut circles from the Carina Drive patterned paper and added them to my cardstock background. One fun item that Scenic Route created is a die cut sheet that has arrows in different directions and patterns. I used the largest arrow for this layout. I love how the arrows draw you across the page. I added letter stickers and chipboard letters to create my title.

Patterned Paper Loveland (Scenic Route)

When I saw the Scrap Strip patterned paper, I knew that I wanted to create a page using some of the strips. This paper really stretches the budget because you can cut it apart in to strips to be used on lots of layouts. I added a die cut arrow and some chipboard pieces.

There is so much in this Product pack that I was able to complete a fourth page. I started with the notebook paper looking background paper, and then added a bit of the stripe paper and another strip from the Scrap Strip paper. I added a silver detail to the chipboard brackets and to the phrase "wild thing" chipboard rectangle.

Loveland is definitely a collection that you will fall in love with. The patterns and the colors are such that you will want to use them year round, not just at Valentines Day. The shades of pink are perfect for little girl pages while the addition of green makes many of these papers great for the men in your life as well.
The chipboard and sticker letters are perfect to mix together, while you will love using the arrows to highlight different things in your pages. Scenic Route has created another must have collection! I can't wait to see what is next. I say bring it on Scenic Route, bring it on!
